My name is Chrislyn Margao..

I’m currently a Senior at Temple University's Klein College of Media and Communication. My journey into public relations began in high school, where my interest in communication quickly merged with a passion for advocacy. I’ve always been driven to make a meaningful difference, particularly for marginalized communities impacted by systemic injustices. My ultimate goal is to support these groups through public relations and, eventually, through human rights law.

As Vice President of Temple PRSSA, I support a chapter of more than 50 members by organizing initiatives that bridge our student body with industry leaders. I coordinate events like agency crawls and networking mixers, aiming to create opportunities for our members to connect and grow. Before this, I served as Director of PR for Temple PRSSA, where I led
presentations and workshops on topics like media kits and press releases, designed chapter-wide materials, and created content for recruitment events. Each role has strengthened my leadership abilities and deepened my understanding of strategic communication

In the summer of 2024, I interned with THIS IS IT NETWORK™, where I played a key role in expanding the network’s media reach. Through collaboration with a dynamic publicity team, I helped create innovative strategies and reports that boosted brand promotion. At PROWL PR, I worked my way up from Account Associate to Account Executive, where I now lead a team of associates in developing clients’ digital strategies and planning campaigns that enhance their engagement and reach.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I love exploring new cuisines, expressing myself through fashion, and immersing myself in different cultures. Looking ahead, I’m excited to pursue a career in public relations where I can amplify causes that align with my commitment to justice. Each experience in PR brings me closer to my ultimate vision: to support vulnerable communities through strategic advocacy and, later, as a dedicated human rights lawyer.
